Technological Agreements with research
institutes and universities, both in Brazil and abroad, support
Fras-le´s globalized projects. Fras-le was one of the first
companies in the State of Rio Grande do Sul to sign the commitment
term to the “ Programa Gaúcho de Qualidade e Produtividade
(PGQP) ( Quality and Productivity Program of the State of Rio Grande
do Sul), and it was the first friction material manufacturer in
Brazil to obtain the ISO 9001 Certification in 1995. In 1999, Fras-le
received the ISO 14001 Certification, which, through an Environmental
Management System and an Environmental Policy, identifies and minimizes
the impacts that its activities may cause to nature, thus seeking
to comply with the pertinent and applicable environmental legislation.
Upon completion of its Total Quality Program, in March 2004, Fras-le
received the ISO 9001 – 2000 version, and in May 2004 Fras-le
received the ISO TS16949 Certification, being the first manufacturer
of friction materials to achieve it. The area concerning quality
always seeks continual improvement through diverse quality tools
such as: CEP, FMEA, MSA, TPM, CCQ, KAIZEN, Quality Cost, 5S and
others.
