ISO TS 16949ISO/TS is an automotive worldwide technical specification required by OEM companies. The specification comprises the standards QS 9000 (EUA), AVSQ (Italy), EAQF (France), VDA6 (Germany) and are manuals referred by customers. Fras-le has been certified to ISO/TS 16949 since May 2004 and was the first friction material company to achieve this certification.
The implementation of the ISO/TS brings many benefits: the quality system of products and processes improves, the reliability for global supply increases and the language used becomes the same, thus improving the general understanding of the customers` requirements.
Fras-le`s purpose in achieving this certification is to seek continuous improvement, prevent defects and reduce variations and losses, in addition to being aligned to its customers` specific requirements.
ISO 9001Fras-le and its complete product were certified to the ISO 9001 Standards in 1995 by DET NORSKE VERITAS (DNV), thus satisfying the quality standards required by the most demanding markets worldwide. In March 2004, Fras-le was re-certified to ISO 9001, in the 2000 version.
ISO 14001The ISO 14001 imposes requirements on a company’s environmental management, so that the company may develop and implement its policy and goals according to legal requirements and information on significant environmental issues. The environmental management system has been in existence since 1998. Fras-le was certified in 1999 to ISO 14001:1996. In December 2005, Fras-le was recertified to ISO 14001 in the 2004 version.
Some management system processes:
- Effluent treatment station, where all liquid effluents coming from the restaurant, restrooms, cloak rooms, and industrial area are treated;
- Management of the solid residue. The residues are sorted out, correctly disposed and/ or reutilized.
- Gases treatment system;
- Composting of solid residue.
OHSAS 18001
OHSAS 18001 is a tool used to monitor and improve the performance indicators of occupational health and safety established by the organization. The standard certifies the company's commitment to the physical integrity of its employees, service providers and visitors.
